Every new generated idea with a possibility to be realized, and developed within a realistic framework, needs to be presented in as simplest form possible, and with clearly defined goals.
In his theory SMART, Peter Drucker (1954) presents an array adopted in modern business as a form for measuring success through objectives. Managing towards objectives signifies how success is determined for a specific project or organisations according to an overall view and the results of achieved objectives.
According to this, it is always important to set objectives that can be:
Specific – Specific, implying the type and scope of work.
Measurable – Measurable, implying clearly set indicators for measuring success and results.
Acceptable – Acceptable, if the policies are clear for achieving objectives.
Realistic – Realistic, those that are achievable. Setting realistic objectives is the foundation and condition for the achieving of results. Every additionally achieved objective is considered to be an additional value.
Time-bound – We set time-bound objectives into realistic timeframes and in relation to overall capacities at our disposal.
