Topic 2 Communications plans

Definition of a communications plan

When a company creates a new product, it always confronts these questions:
How to get more people to our website? How to talk about it on social media?
Whether you are working for an agency, a nonprofit, or a company, you need a solid plan.

A communications plan can facilitate the clarification of the scope launch and officially determine the messages to be delivered to the intended target audience(s).
It identifies the messages you need to promote, to whom the institution is targeting those messages, and on which channel(s).

A good communications plan sets the expectations of a communication action (e.g. a campaign) a priori.
It defines success for your organisation’s news portal and protects you from unrealistic or out-of-scope demands.
